A common mistake

The most common mistake that a tester does is to assume anything to the contrary. We sometime make assumptions that okay! since this part worked, so does the other one will and sometimes that comes back to haunt us. One example is recently we did some work on an application and completely forgot its other functionalities thinking that we do not have to test that part since that is coming in another Iteration. A big mistake, what really happened was that, it actually broke a big piece of functionality and that in turn made us to rewrite the entire code. If we were a bit more careful and not hasty may be we would have found that error and we did not have to do it all over again. So a big lesson from this is Never Assume anything.
